About Me

Hi everyone!

My name is Matthew Donndelinger. I’m an amateur TTRPG designer, avid dungeon master, and professional slide maker.

I started my TTRPG journey 6 years ago when my girlfriend’s dad started running an old Rune Quest hack he made back in college. That game didn’t last, but my passion for rpgs (and the girlfriend) did. I’ve been DMing various games (primarily 5e) for the past five years and have had a blast doing it! Over that time I have DM’ed 3 campaigns from level 1 to 20 (would have been four, but we had a TPK at level 17) and recently started a challenge with my wife to play every core D&D class from level 1 to 20 with her playing and me DMing. Aside from DMing, I enjoy reading, other kinds of gaming, live theater, and watching (American) football and basketball.

Why I’m writing this

One day after a particularly heavy world building session, I was thinking about how awesome the various online communities are and how much free information is available. There is definitely a focus on lower levels and group games in these communities, which makes sense given that these are the spheres in which the vast majority of D&D and ttrpg play occurs. However, since I’ve had quite a bit of success running high level games and play so much solo D&D, I figured some of my nonsense would be interesting to other people. My goal is simple: to give back to the awesome community that I have stolen so much from!
